Russell Brand is a British comedian, actor, writer, and activist who gained fame for his irreverent and provocative style of comedy. Born on June 4, 1975, in Grays, Essex, England, Brand began his career as a stand-up comedian in the early 2000s, performing at various venues across the UK.

Brand first gained national attention in 2004 with his role as the hedonistic musician Aldous Snow in the Channel 4 sitcom “The Mighty Boosh.” He later went on to host several TV shows, including “Big Brother’s Big Mouth” and “Russell Brand’s Ponderland.”

Brand has also appeared in a number of films, including “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Get Him to the Greek,” and “Arthur.” In addition to his acting and comedy work, Brand is known for his political activism and outspoken views on a variety of social and political issues.

Brand has been married twice, first to singer Katy Perry and later to lifestyle blogger Laura Gallacher, with whom he has two children.
