Tulsi Gabbard is an American politician and former military officer. She was born on April 12, 1981, in Leloaloa, American Samoa.

Gabbard served in the Hawaii Army National Guard from 2003 to 2020 and was deployed to Iraq in 2004 and Kuwait in 2008. In 2012, she was elected to the United States House of Representatives, representing Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district. She was re-elected in 2014, 2016, and 2018.
