Huang is best known for his memoir “Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir,” which was later adapted into a sitcom of the same name. The book and show are based on Huang’s experiences growing up in a Taiwanese family in Orlando, Florida, and the challenges he faced as an Asian-American trying to fit in.

Huang is also the owner of Baohaus, a Taiwanese-Chinese sandwich shop, with locations in New York City and Los Angeles. He has hosted several food and travel shows, including “Huang’s World” and “Snack World,” and has been a judge on the cooking competition show “MasterChef.”

In addition to his work in the food and media industries, Huang is also an activist and has been outspoken about issues such as race, representation, and cultural appropriation.
