Eric Weinstein is an American mathematician, economist, physicist, and managing director of Thiel Capital, a private investment firm founded by Peter Thiel. He is also known for coining the term “intellectual dark web,” which refers to a loose coalition of public intellectuals who are willing to engage in discussions and debates on controversial topics that are often deemed taboo or politically incorrect.
Weinstein received his Ph.D. in mathematical physics from Harvard University in 1992. He has held faculty positions at several universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has also worked as a researcher at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute in Berkeley, California.
