Robert Kelly, better known by his stage name R. Kelly, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He was born on January 8, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Kelly began his music career in the late 1980s as a songwriter and producer for R&B acts. He gained recognition in the early 1990s with his debut album “Born into the 90’s” and hit singles such as “Bump n’ Grind” and “I Believe I Can Fly.” Throughout his career, Kelly has released numerous albums and has had multiple hits, including “Ignition (Remix),” “Trapped in the Closet,” and “Step in the Name of Love.”

Despite his success, Kelly has been embroiled in controversy throughout his career, with allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse against him dating back to the mid-1990s.
