Jann Wenner is an American publisher, writer, and entrepreneur. He was born on January 7, 1946, in New York City, New York.

Wenner is best known as the co-founder and publisher of Rolling Stone magazine, which he started in 1967 along with music critic Ralph J. Gleason. The magazine quickly became a major player in the music industry, and was known for its coverage of counterculture and political issues. Wenner served as editor-in-chief of Rolling Stone until 2017, when he sold a controlling stake in the magazine to Penske Media Corporation.

In addition to his work with Rolling Stone, Wenner has been involved in various other media projects over the years. He co-founded the music television network MTV in 1981, and also co-founded the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1983.

Wenner has been recognized for his contributions to the media industry with numerous awards and honors. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and has received accolades from organizations such as the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Magazine Awards.
