Mark Zuckerberg is an American entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of Facebook, one of the world’s largest social media platforms. He was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York.

Zuckerberg co-founded Facebook in 2004 while he was a student at Harvard University. The site started out as a social networking platform exclusively for Harvard students, but quickly expanded to include other universities and eventually became available to anyone with an email address.

Under Zuckerberg’s leadership, Facebook has grown into a global company with billions of users around the world. The platform has been instrumental in shaping the way people communicate and interact online, and has become a major player in the tech industry.

Despite its success, Facebook has faced criticism and controversy over issues such as privacy concerns, the spread of fake news and misinformation, and its role in the 2016 US presidential election. Zuckerberg has testified before the US Congress and other government bodies on these issues, and has pledged to take steps to address them.

Zuckerberg is also a philanthropist, and he and his wife Priscilla Chan have pledged to donate the majority of their wealth to charitable causes over their lifetimes. In 2015, they launched the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a philanthropic organization focused on advancing human potential and promoting equality.
