Dave Mustaine is an American musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter for the heavy metal band Megadeth. He was born on September 13, 1961, in La Mesa, California.

Mustaine began his career as a guitarist in the early 1980s, playing with various bands before joining Metallica in 1982 as their lead guitarist. He played on their first album, “Kill ‘Em All,” before being fired from the band in 1983 due to issues with alcohol and drug abuse.

After leaving Metallica, Mustaine formed his own band, Megadeth, and quickly established a reputation as one of the most talented and innovative guitarists in the heavy metal scene.
