Chris Williamson is a British politician and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Derby North. He was elected to the House of Commons in the 2010 general election as a member of the Labour Party, and served until 2019 when he lost his seat in the general election.

During his time in Parliament, Williamson was known for his left-wing views and vocal support for Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn. He was a member of the Socialist Campaign Group of MPs and served as Shadow Fire and Emergency Services Minister from 2016 to 2017.

Williamson has been involved in politics for many years, having previously served as a councillor in Derby and as leader of the Derby City Council Labour Group. He has also been active in the trade union movement, serving as a regional officer for UNISON.

In recent years, Williamson has been involved in controversy over allegations of antisemitism within the Labour Party. He was suspended from the party in February 2019 over comments he made regarding the party’s handling of such allegations. Williamson has denied accusations of antisemitism and has been a vocal critic of what he sees as a politically motivated campaign against him.
