Dr. Shanna Swan is an environmental and reproductive epidemiologist, and a professor of environmental medicine and public health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. She is a leading expert on the impact of environmental chemicals on human health, particularly on reproductive health and fertility.

Dr. Swan has published numerous studies on the effects of chemicals such as phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA) on human health, and her research has been widely cited in the media and in public policy discussions. Her book “Count Down: How Our Modern World Is Threatening Sperm Counts, Altering Male and Female Reproductive Development, and Imperiling the Future of the Human Race” was published in 2021 and has received widespread attention for its findings on the decline of human fertility and the role of environmental chemicals in that decline.

Dr. Swan has received several awards and honors for her research, including the 2020 Public Health Champion Award from the New York State Public Health Association and the 2021 Environmental Health Champion Award from the Children’s Environmental Health Network.
