Claressa Shields is an American professional boxer who was born on March 17, 1995. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and the first boxer, male or female, to win consecutive Olympic titles in London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016.
Shields was born and raised in Flint, Michigan, and started boxing at the age of 11. She quickly became one of the most dominant amateur boxers in the world, winning multiple national championships and gold medals in international competitions.
In 2016, Shields made her professional debut and has since won world titles in multiple weight divisions, including the middleweight, super middleweight, and light heavyweight divisions. She is known for her aggressive style in the ring and is considered one of the best female boxers in the world.
Outside of boxing, Shields has been an advocate for issues related to women’s rights, particularly in sports. She has also pursued a career in mixed martial arts (MMA) and made her debut in June 2021.
